There were three adults and one almost five year old very active boy. Overall not a bad quick trip in the winter.… Also bring your own towels too bc the ones they give you are pretty small. I noticed a lot of families bring robes which was an excellent idea to leave pool and head back to room versus changing or walking out in wet clothes (since it’s cold outside water park and EVERYTHING is wet, puddles the whole way out, etc). Lazy river was closed which wasn’t mentioned online. Just be mindful where you set up shop because lots of areas get wet from hoses, buckets and splashing. Head towards back there’s plenty, people don’t venture back there when they arrive. We didn’t have any issue finding chairs for our stuff and nothing was tampered with. Breakfast buffet has standard stuff but lots of items in comparison to dinner. The customer service by waitstaff at the buffet was excellent though. There’s a microwave and mini fridge in the room so you’re better off stocking up on sandwiches than spending lots of money on premises. Dunkin’ Donuts was a cart not even a mini shop. Pizza was plain and cold at the pizza place. It was a 30 min wait for a kids meal which was still wrong but not worth waiting another 30 for the correct meal. I wouldn’t pay for the meal plan in advance again. There’s no teenagers or adults taking advantage of these kiddie slides so if parents ride down with their kid it shouldn’t be an issue (these are obviously little kids). The youngest kids can’t participate in ANY other slide except this area. A couple lifeguards were watching like hawks, a couple would sort of let it slide (pun intended). Parents are not allowed to ride down the kiddie slides with their kids. The water in the wave pool and regular pool was warmest. Water park is great, there were cleaning staff constantly walking around sweeping the floors. Off peak visit: Water park is 4.5 everything else 3 at best. It just needs some sprucing up and the food needs some work! For $60 for a breakfast buffet we expected more! Otherwise it was a pretty good time which is why im giving 3 stars.… You could spend 3 nights here and not do it all. It was clean, staff was friendly, and water park is a blast especially from my 3 kids aged 1-6. But the free ears at the store in the lobby are a nice treat for the kids. I loved the layout of the water park and only wished it was a little bigger but I guess that’s what the 40k sq ft expansion is for! All in all it wasn’t as terrible as all the reviews make it seem, but it could definitely be improved upon! It’s definitely pretty expensive so I understand how families could expect more. ![]() Check in was also a breeze and I didn’t encounter any employee that was rude. The burger we had from buckets was great and we loved the value of the refillable mugs. The food at the buffet is not good and neither is the pizza. Those refillable shampoo and body wash dispensers would be awesome to have at a big family resort like this one. No body wash and only a small tube of shampoo and lotion and a bar of soap. There weren’t hardly any toiletries so if you have a big family like mine, make sure you bring your own. The full size mattress was comfortable and so were the pillows. The rooms were a little dated with paint chipping off the walls and was in need of new furnishings, carpeting and bedding… the pull out sofa was like sleeping on springs. But that is only going to benefit us on future trips and it really didn’t bother us. Yes, there is construction going on right now. I recently stayed at GWL for the first time with my family and wanted to rebuke a few of the reviews I saw prior to my stay.
